The Youth Programme recognizes young people as active rights-holders and essential actors in the consolidation of democratic and human rights–based societies. This programme equips young people with a comprehensive understanding of their rights and corresponding responsibilities for informed participation, civic engagement, institutional trust-building and a resilient human rights culture.
Through tailored education, capacity-building, and engagement with the FEL-HRI participatory hub, the youth are supported in understanding, claiming, and defending their rights, acting with integrity, accountability, and respect for others’ rights.
By integrating the principles of equality, non-discrimination, participation, and social inclusion, as embedded in EU youth policy, the Programme seeks to nurture a generation of informed and responsible leaders—the youth changemakers—committed to upholding human dignity, the rule of law, and a sustainable future.
