MsSofiaCaseiro Sofia Caseiro holds a Law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra and a Master’s degree from the same institution in Legal-Political Sciences, with a specialization in Public International Law and European Law. She is currently a PhD candidate in the Doctoral Programme in Human Rights in Contemporary Societies at the University of Coimbra. Her research focuses on human rights, democratic governance, and gender equality, with particular attention to women’s political representation, freedom of religion and belief, and freedom of expression. She is the author of Portugal e a Proteção Internacional de Direitos Humanos (2018) and co-author of Annotations on Legal Documents on Islam: Portugal (2020). Sofia Caseiro is also a Guest Lecturer at the School of Education and Social Sciences of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria and a trainer in Gender Equality, Labour Law, and Data Protection. She serves as a Member of the Executive Board of the Union of Civil Parishes of Marrazes and Barosa, in the municipality of Leiria.
